Greetings from our home this Thanksgiving weekend. We spent Thanksgiving with my husband's family, brothers, nieces, and nephews, a total of 17 in all. The food was wonderful and reconnecting with family was great. Our children, their spouses, and the grandchildren were with their in-laws. Our Thanksgiving for many, many years has been followed by an early morning departure for the big bargains. This is a multigenerational female outing where we share many laughs, share our love of finding the biggest deal of the day, and of course, eating! This shared experience is not based on material things, it is more the bonding and family memories created. I really missed the excursion this year - we all did our own thing because of not being together.
My heart overflows this year with thankfulness for God's provision this past year. This year was one of near financial ruin and at times we were sure we would lose everything. Yet God continued to show up with His provision and blessing to see us through one more time. He is faithful and true to His promises. Perhaps this year more than ever, it was put to the test. And without a doubt, God poured out His blessings on us. I praise Him for loving us and providing for us. The lessons He has taught us this year are ones I might not have signed up for, but I am better for having been His student. Praise Him!
